Air and Ground Travel

Banff is located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, in Banff National Park, Alberta. There is much to explore, so you may wish to travel by car. Driving directions can be found here: http://www.banffcentre.ca/about/directions-maps/. Note: Because Banff is located in a national park, you must pay a parks fee upon entry. Parking is free at the Banff Centre.

There is only one airport for arrivals to Banff, and that is Calgary International Airport (YYC), which is 148 km / 92 miles from the Banff Centre.

Shuttle transportation this year will be arranged with the Banff Airporter and will be provided at no cost for Thursday arrival and Sunday departure. As you are booking your travel, do be advised that Banff is a 1½ hour drive from Calgary. Thus, if at all possible, try to arrive before 10pm on Thursday and try to avoid very early morning flights on Sunday. Please submit your flight information here https://subline.ualberta.ca/Registration/Create/4?eventItemDef=55. For this you will need the registration number you received in your e-mail confirmation. You may also wish to rent a car, especially if you will have some time to tour the area. If you arrive or leave on different days, we do have a special rate with the Banff Airporter ($51 CAD one way). Mention WiG.

Check back later for more information on WiG-sponsored shuttles.
